The incumbent Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti, today held a meeting with the incumbent Minister of Health, Armend Zemaj, with representatives of the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo and the University Clinical Hospital Service of Kosovo.
According to a Government communiqué, this meeting assessed the epidemiological situation with COVID-19 in Kosovo, which has marked an increase of cases in the last two weeks by 7.7%, with an increasing trend in the last three days of this week from 320 cases in 422 cases on average this week (24.1%).
To this end, a number of recommendations have been given based on the epidemiological situation in the country, which emphasizes the need for FVA sanitary inspectorates and municipal inspectorates to strictly implement the Anti-COVID Law, the Law on Inspectorate and the Law on Prevention of Communicable Diseases. as well as to take measures of responsibility in case of eventual non-implementation of the recommendations of NIPHK and MoH in all sectors. According to NIPHK representatives, rigorous measures are recommended to stop the growing trend of virus cases. As for vaccines, the Ministry of Health is waiting for the first contingent of vaccines and is ready as soon as they arrive, to implement the vaccination strategy Anti COVID-19 throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
During this meeting, Prime Minister Hoti stressed that the responsible institutions, namely the Kosovo Police and the responsible inspectorates, will closely monitor and take all necessary actions to implement measures and other decisions in force pursuant to the Law on Prevention and fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in the Republic of Kosovo.
At the end of this meeting, the necessity of implementing the recommendations of the NIPHK and respecting the restrictive measures for all public activities, respectively the restrictions on the gathering of citizens and public gatherings, was reiterated.
