Korça was ranked as the second region in the country with the highest interest for work from INSTAT data.
The figures for the third quarter of last year show that 68.7% of the working age population were employed or looking for a job. The labor force participation rate for persons over 15 years of age in this region increased by 5.2% from the first quarter of the year, while the main sector remains that of hotel, tourism and digital affairs.
But despite the demand for jobs, the domestic market remains unregulated and it is mainly young people who face difficulties. The relationship between employers and employees remains difficult because on the one hand employers offer low pay and require qualifications or experience and on the other hand young people demand better pay preferring to work for the foreign market or leave the city.
Unlike this sector, finding the workforce in particular occupations remains difficult for employers and in some market specialties there are pronounced shortages.
