At the request of 1/3 of the General Assembly, the Albanian National Olympic Committee convened an Extraordinary Assembly on Saturday, accepting the motion of no confidence in Genc Boga, members of the NOC committee and at the same time treasurer or chief of treasury, and the other member. of committee Tatjana Marashi who had previously resigned.
The agenda did not foresee any debate but the immediate transition to the voting process after the speech of the president of KOKSH, this brought tension to the situation, as Boga asked for explanations.
The leaders of this assembly explained to the former treasurer Genc Boga that he had had 45 days to ask for clarifications in various forums, which he had not done and at this moment of the process it was too late.
Accused as the initiator of this motion, Elez Gjoza, president of the weightlifting federation explains the reasons why he had started this battle.
“It is true that I started it because Boga together with the president and the former secretary of KOKSH have excluded weightlifting from the Mediterranean Games, excluding a sport that brought about 15 medals. The blame for that decision that is against the Albanians not only against our federation was not only of the previous president and the secretary but also of him. The three signed “, says the president of the weightlifting federation.
At the end of the process Genc Boga was dismissed with 45 votes in favor and 13 against, while Tatiana Marashi with 46 pros and 12 against.
The president of KOKSH, Fidel Ylli, has debated this assembly and sees it positively.
“Where there are debates, there is development. “Boga and Marashi knew that they would be fired because the proposals for their distrust were in figures that reached 2/3 of the assembly, even though only 1/3 would be enough”, says Fidel Ylli.
Currently the NOC has a truncated executive committee as it lacks 4 out of 11 members, who will be voted on on a date to be set in the coming days.
