The Special Court sentenced the two leaders of the KLA War Veterans Organization to four and a half years in prison each.
Nasim Haradinaj and Hysni Gucati were found guilty of obstruction of justice.
Gucati and Haradinaj will serve their sentences for another two years, since with the decision of the trial panel in The Hague, the time spent in detention on remand is included in their sentence.
The OVL KLA says that they waited for such a decision as they do not trust the justice that the Special Court can provide.
Hysni Gucati and Nasim Haradinaj were arrested in September 2020 by the Special Prosecution after the publication of confidential documents that according to them someone from the Office of the Special Prosecutor left at the door of the OVL KLA.
