The mayor of Kherson, Igor Kolykhayev has denied the information that the city has fallen into the hands of the Russian army.
Kolykhayev has indicated that Ukrainian forces are at the front, fighting against the Russian army.

The mayor’s reaction comes after this morning, the Russian defense ministry said its troops had taken full control of Kherson, a provincial capital with about a quarter of a million people on the southern front.
If the Russian military claims are true, then Kherson would be the first city in Ukraine to be occupied by Russian forces so far.
