Democratic MP Belind Kelliçi called Prime Minister Edi Rama a coward during the protest held on the “Martyrs of the Nation” boulevard.
You come to Tirana, this one runs away from Tirana. Just not to see you, because his eyes hurt when he sees you in the square! A coward who hides from the truth, who runs away from his people. Just to deter you, he has ordered teachers to stay on the job even though the school year is over. He ran away and took his mushroom with him. A statesman would stand here and look the citizens in the eye, listen to their concerns. But this one escapes because it is like that!
My friends, our Albania is in danger today.
The real Albania, the one of the real majority, of the ordinary citizens, is suffocating, dying, and shrinking every day from what was announced since the renaissance, as the Albania we love. The Albania that we love, and these adjacent ones, actually killed the Albania of the Albanians.
The Albania that these people love, the Albania of Edi Rama, Veliaj, Belinda, Elissa, Ben Ahmetaj, Taulant Balla, Frida, Çuçi, Ulsiu, and Agaçi, can be really beautiful. Idyllic. It smells like expensive French perfume, wears expensive clothes from Italian brands, has the taste of the most exclusive restaurants from Dubai to those here in Tirana, has the comfort of luxury villas on the coast, has the comfort of cars worth hundreds of thousands of euros, has the adrenaline of first class travel, the security of bulk money, of apartments full of cash.
This Albania of these people and the people who surround them, there is no cursing. But this country, this domain, this venom of the most corrupt dignitaries of the globe according to any serious international report, was not created thanks to their genius or talent. This world of theirs, came to life, grew, and is fattening every day, on the Albania of the majority of Albanians, on our Albania, taking from it every day, the wealth, the budget, the assets and the opportunities it offers.
This gang which is at the head of the government today, is also the real owner of the incinerators, they are the real builders of the towers; the strategic investors are these two, Rama and Veliaj, the ones who destroyed the culture, who made the theater a pit, sold Butrint, drove away the doctors, young people and artisans.
Edi Rama and Erion Veliaj are ready to take out each other’s eyes from all the dirty affairs they have gotten their hands on. There is no expert committee and no award board. It is these two who have bought the Socialist Party with the money from construction permits and are holding it hostage with the money of the incinerators. And here we are today!
Our Albania, the Albania of the majority, has the taste of abandonment, loneliness, because every day only specialists, professionals, young men and women leave. The real Albania has the smell of poverty, as low incomes, pensions, small salaries, negligible aid no longer come out to get even half of basic food. Imagine what struggle with life the unemployed have today.
Our Albania today has the appearance of the labor and production of farmers who are thrown away because they have nowhere to sell it, and the cost has taken away their dignity.
Majority Albania has the difficulty of not being able to close the month, to fill the car with diesel, to pay off the loan, to pay for water, electricity, internet, or the university fee. We have had the example before our eyes for days to understand where we live and why we are in danger.
The real Albania is that 90-year-old woman in the asylum who has no one to take care of her and who cannot withdraw the 600,000 lek that she has in her life savings. The Albania they want, Rama and Veliaj, is that minister, former minister, or partner in crime, who has the 30 million dollars that appear in the name of the elderly woman, about which she knows nothing.
Only we, only the people who stand up, can save the real Albania that is suffocating, that has a noose around its throat. You who are here tonight, and many others who will join us. Albania must and will be saved, because this is an issue that belongs to all of us. So today, from this square, I say to every honest socialist: Where do you see honesty in Edi Rama? To the most expensive asphalt in Europe? To the incinerators?
The interceptions of BILD and the Italian Antimafia? I ask them sincerely, where do you see the similarity with Edi Rama?
Do you have a private plane to meet children in exile? How much has it increased your salaries and pensions? How many roads has he built and where are they? Where is the reconstruction? Scams all! Oil is cheaper in Ukraine, same in Europe. Where will you find the money to fill the tables, the car – who has! What wages will you afford to live on?
Dear friends,
Albania is not poor. This one has impoverished him! He stole it, corner by corner! He left no river unbroken, forest uncut, land on the coast unstolen; he did not leave a yard or a flower garden in Tirana without concreting it. Greedy with your money, your taxes, your sweat and your toil.
So, never tell me what I need.
Saving our country has now become a national task.
Stop it with resistance! All together!
Down with greed!
Down with thievery!
Long live youth!
Long live Albania!”
