We were used to being part of a party that won the elections and every time the DP won, we were able to make changes for the better. We also made mistakes and today I believe we all agree here. But in the Government we ruled, in the opposition we were strong and real. Let me stop here at our opposition. In the longest and most difficult years of the opposition before 2005, no one called us a false opposition. We did not think that we could be corrupted in the opposition, we did not impose fines; we did not sell the mission of opposition! We did not exchange envelope seats for deputies, and we did not burn mandates. We did not shirk our responsibilities and did not imagine throwing gas at our people. We were used to fighting for our truths, no matter how much it might cost. We believed that we had a duty to be defenders of the rights and freedoms of citizens, guardians of the public interest; to keep the government under control.
