The chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, and the former leader of this party, Sali Berisha, are expected to be summoned by the prosecution in their capacity as declarants regarding the events that took place in the January 8 protest in front of the PD headquarters.
The news was confirmed for Top Channel journalist, Anila Hoxha by prosecutor Elio Mazreku, who is investigating the protest.
On Saturday, January 8, supporters of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha attacked and severely damaged the Democratic Party headquarters.
The protest called against the chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, immediately became violent, so there were several injuries and arrests.
Despite the resistance of people from inside the building, the protesters penetrated inside the building, after destroying for several hours the attack with iron devices the doors closed with metal elements.
U.S., European and OSCE diplomats condemned the violence and urged organizers to reduce the tension of the protest, which was dispersed by police.
