A 27-year-old man of Albanian origin was arrested today in Italy after he tried to kill his 20-year-old ex-girlfriend.
The victim was originally from Greece and on Sunday evening received severe stab wounds to the neck, chest and abdomen. Police say they have found the knife used in the street attack, Italian media reports Ansa.
The woman was taken in critical condition to Mauriziano Hospital in Turin. Currently, she is being treated at another hospital and is in intensive care after staying 6 hours in the operating room.
Surgeons repaired the wounds on her lungs, neck and chest. The attack took place in Largo Marconi, not far from the 20-year-old’s house.
