In a horrific gesture, the 33-year-old Italian FC, who works as a teacher in Lombardy, set himself on fire yesterday in front of the carabinieri barracks in the town of Rende near Cosenza, according to reports.
The person has suffered serious injuries and burns to 70% of the body.
He was taken to the area hospital after rescue attempts by locals.
Witnesses said the man, without saying a word, got out of his car with the petrol can in his hand and walked towards the entrance of the carabinieri headquarters, where he set himself on fire.
The employees of a nearby tire shop came to the rescue first.
Domestic reports said the 33-year-old teacher had been suspended from work for three months after not being vaccinated.
The gruesome images of the extreme gesture video went viral on social media.

Italy has done mandatory vaccination against COVID-19 in January for people over 50, the only country in Europe that does so. Authorities say this is done to “reduce the pressure on health services” but every week there are widespread protests in the country against allegations of discrimination and corruption against the government of caretaker Prime Minister Draghi.
