The Italian court has issued five arrest warrants specifically for Nazar Seiti and Maridian Sulaj, known as members of the “Habilaj” group, as well as three Italian citizens, Angela Busaça, Antonio Riela and Vicenzo Sapampinato.
During the investigation in Italy, which included the Albanian police and Interpol, 24 traffickers were arrested and money and weapons were seized.
They are under investigation for international drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons.
According to Italian mediathe criminal group operated mainly in the area of Catania, Ragusa and Syracuse and marijuana was imported from Albania.
Maridian Sulaja was sentenced to 8 years in prison after being found guilty of drug trafficking crimes. Angelo Busaça was sentenced to 6 years and 10 months in prison (of which 6 years, one month and 26 days to be repaid) after being found guilty of a criminal plot aimed at drug trafficking.
Antonino Riela was sentenced to 14 years and 8 months in prison (of which 13 years, 10 months and 14 days for repayment), because he was guilty of conspiracy theories and drug trafficking.
Nezar Seiti was sentenced to 6 years and 8 months in prison (all to be paid) after being found guilty of conspiracy to commit drug trafficking.
Finally, Vincenzo Spampinato was sentenced to 9 years in prison (of which 8 years, 3 months and 8 days still for repayment), because he was guilty of drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons.
