The Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Iryna Vereshchuk, said that on April 22 there will be no evacuation of civilians because the situation on the streets is dangerous.
“Due to road insecurities, today, April 22, there will be no humanitarian corridors,” Vershchuk said in a Telegram post.
“All of you who are waiting for the evacuation, please be patient,” she added.
On Thursday, April 2, 79 people, most of them women, were evacuated by three buses from the port city of Mariupol. These inhabitants were sent to Zaporizhia, which is about 225 kilometers away.
Since the start of the Russian occupation of Ukraine, Moscow and Kiev have repeatedly accused each other of thwarting evacuation plans.
