Israeli Fida Kewan, 43, has been sentenced to death by a court in the United Arab Emirates for trafficking half a kilogram of cocaine.
But in a recent interview she said she does not believe the sentence will be executed, according to the local network KAN Reshet Bet.

Kewan had emigrated to the UAE a year ago to work, and claims innocence on the charge of possession of half a kilogram of cocaine. She says she was just “in the wrong place, at the wrong time.”
In a recording published by the media, Kewan says to her brother: “I am not a drug trafficker, I believe that justice will go to the country, the justice system in EMA is advanced”, writes the Jerusalem Post.
She also sent an appeal to the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, saying that “a terrible mistake has been made, and if you check the details I am sure you will help me.”
The Israeli Foreign Ministry said it was aware of the incident but was unable to intervene to avoid carrying out the execution.
There are a number of crimes in the UAE that carry the death penalty immediately, including drug trafficking.
Many foreign nationals have been executed in the UAE for crimes that in other countries may be considered less serious.
Last year another Israeli, Khalil Dasuki, was arrested in Dubai for trying to traffic $ 136 million worth of cocaine, which Dubai police called the biggest drug seizure ever.
