Three people have been killed and four others injured in a suspected terrorist attack in the central Israeli city of Elad.
Police said the incident, which took place on Israel Independence Day, was carried out by two people. One fired a gun while the other attacked people with an ax, police said.
Images from the scene show numerous emergency vehicles and the presence of numerous citizens.
The attack is the latest in a series of violent incidents that have endangered Israel and the Palestinian territories in recent weeks.
Last month, two people were killed and more than a dozen others were injured by gunfire at a bar in a populated area of Tel Aviv.
And in just one week in March, 11 people were killed in three attacks on Israeli cities.
