Inter remain interested in Gianluca Scamacca and they could beat Juventus to sign the Sassuolo striker by offering an exchange deal.
Scamacca, 22, is considered one of Italy’s most promising strikers and has scored six goals in 19 Serie A appearances this season.
Juventus is among the clubs interested in securing his services, but the whites value the player at 30-35 million euros, while Sassuolo is asking for a sale around 40-45 million euros.
Juventus would sign Scamaccan on loan with a purchase obligation, but club Neroverdi are not ready to sell their striker in January.
They have already sold Jeremie Bogan to Atalanta, so they are not forced to share the streets with another of their stars to balance the books.
According to the medium La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter has lined up to sign with the Italian star.
The Nerazzurri are open to meeting Sassuolo’s demands over the summer by offering a fee of around € 45 million, including some players who have been wanted by Sassuolo recently.
One is Andrea Pinamonti, currently on loan at Empoli, where he has scored seven goals in 18 appearances and is valued at 20 million euros. The other is defender Lorenzo Pirola, a center-back now on loan at Monza in Serie B.
Scamacca is not the only target in attack for Inter as the Nerazzurri continue to monitor River Plate star Julian Alvarez.
