The court hearing of the former director of VAT, Thoma Gëllçin has been postponed.
SPAK says it has sought information on other tenders held in recent years, but without providing information on whether criminal facts have been uncovered.
The hearing against Gëllçi has been postponed to Tuesday, December 14, where the defense against him will be presented.
Lawyer Dorjan Matlija says that the expansion of the investigation is the main indicator that the investigation for the first tender has failed.
The former director of ART, Thoma Gëllçi is under investigation for abuse of office, for a tender given at the time he was in that position.
The Special Court of Appeals left in prison the former director of ART, Thoma Gëllçi and his three subordinates until the end of the investigation on October 30.
He called for a softer security measure because it poses no danger. The same request was made by the other three detainees charged.
In the closed session, Gëllçi denied the accusations raised by SPAK.
Thoma Gëllçi’s lawyer, Dorjan Matlija, has previously claimed that this is an attack, as his client has requested the opening of the competition and would run for the post of general director of ART.
Gëllçi, together with three employees are accused of inequality in tenders and abuse of office at the time when Gëllçi was in charge of ART.
The violation concerns a tender of 2018 with a fund of 86 million ALL for the purchase of equipment for the RTSH Agro channel, where the three members of the Bid Evaluation Commission, Alban Malaveci, Ervin Muraj and Julian Tapia are accused of violating the equality in the tender.
The investigation has also shown that Thoma Gëllçi, as the former General Director of the Albanian Radio Television, has committed legal violations in this procurement procedure and is accused of abuse of office.
