A few days ago in Pristina, tens of thousands of students came out and protested against the problems that according to them have schools in Kosovo. But that protest raises the question, why do the protests not work in Albania? Why do they end up in a group of people, smaller than the number of cameras that follow them? We are often used to saying that it is the fault of politics, but psychologists and activists say that the problem is deeper in society.
Kosovo Albanians have developed a culture of protest, without comparison with us in Albania, according to sociologists. The latest slap in the face to politicians there came from a young age, who came together to seek quality education.
“Kosovo Albanians, unlike Albanian Albanians, are people who have always had to resist, they have always had to rebel. “They have a healthy school of civic reaction and awareness of your role: not to be a slave and an obedient politician.”

But the young people in Albania, even though they are dissatisfied with the student life here and not only, do not react but accept the problematic reality in silence, turning into a hooded society.
“We are afraid we are oppressed. We do not agree. But for comments we are very good, to come out we do not become!
There we have the safest space that we do not identify. Otherwise we are afraid that we will not graduate, that they will not give us a grade, so we react… ”
“Our young people are certainly more civilian than adults. But the fact that they are so passive in different directions means that they do not have the necessary aspirations for their life, what they want to do, what their goals are. As well as these uncontrollable movements like massive internal or external emigration all of these lower your hopes.
“There is an extreme decay of Albanian society and national morality. We have a disintegration, values have been turned upside down… by families that nurture children from a young age, fears and material interests, you can not have rebellious youth. There are a very small number, which is unfortunate because it is known that when a person is young he does not compromise not grades, not the work of parents… but our society is so rotten that it has included young people! “- said Brisida Gjikondi
The protest has already been alienated. With a social media profile, they find it easier to express anger with an emoji or comment, but basically without changing anything. Giving us some new features as Albanians: disobedience and submission.
We are familiar with the violations and in this way we do not have high sensitivities towards human or individual rights violations.
