Residents of the cultural city of Ukraine, Lviv, are trying to protect historical monuments, which are endangered by Russian bombing.
Local heritage officials said some of the statues were wrapped in various materials to avoid damage from the attacks.
Residents have been able to wrap sculptures of the Roman god Neptune and the Greek goddess Amphitrite in plastic.
Also outside the Latin Cathedral, built in the 14th century, a smaller statue was seen covered in what looked like foam and fixed with tape.
Statues of the classical deities Adonis and Diana, as well as limestone figures were built more than 200 years ago, with accompanying fountains placed in every corner of the square.
