“It’s like camping at the station, but there is no beach and no sun,” said a passenger waiting at the Gare du Nord station in Paris with hundreds of others.
Development comes from travel delays and cancellations for various reasons, such as this time an “electricity problem” near the French capital.
Philomène’s parents have already come to her at the station after a few hours delay of her turn to London.
“We parted in the morning but then she called saying that there was panic at the station and that she felt insecure, so we came to accompany her,” says the girl’s mother.
“So we got dressed and we all came. “Now we are playing a game to pass the time, waiting for the train”, adds the woman.
Charles Allan, from London, says he is waiting for the four-hour train and is afraid of losing the trip.
“I met some new friends here… I can not leave because I may miss the train, now I have to be home, get ready for work tomorrow.”
Valentine, who wants to travel to the north of France, says:
“My train was supposed to leave at 4.35 but after two or three hours of delay, it was canceled and I had to pick it up at 7.04, I believe I can afford it.”
“There must be an organization issue, you can not find a railway employee to ask because there are so many passengers delayed.”
