Four “Ibrahim Kodra” awards are given to Albanian youth. In the competition organized by the “Ibrahim Kodra” Foundation in Milan, in collaboration with the Art Gallery Tirana, “Ibrahim Kodra” awards were given.
In this competition designed on the occasion of the 104th anniversary of the birth of the internationally famous Albanian painter, Ibrahim Kodra, whose art is known throughout the world, young people from all over Albania participated. They are mainly students of art high schools from all over Albania, who are presented with over 70 works in painting, realized in different techniques.
During this event, which coincided with the birthday of the Albanian post-Cubist, the first prize was awarded to Orianda Prifti from the Lyceum of Tirana. The second prize went to Shkodra for the young Endris Hysa and the third prize was won by Mikela Taragjini. Meanwhile, during the competition, a special award was given to Cindy Thartori. These awards were made possible by the “Ibrahim Kodra” foundation named after the painter, based in Milan, Italy.
This activity is organized to keep alive the name of Ibrahim Kodra, but also to always remain faithful to his great desire: “To help young people” – said the president of the foundation Fatos Faslliu.
These works, which will be exhibited for more than a week in the premises of the Art Gallery in Tirana, have been selected and curated by the curator of the exhibition Ina Elezi. “I am glad that so many young people responded so quickly to our call to work on the” Ibrahim Kodra “award and this is very promising for Albanian art,” says Elezi.
Meanwhile, according to the director of GAT, Abaz Hado, this event is organized to raise the name of one of the most famous figures of Albanian art, Ibrahim Kodra, who, although he had his artistic activity abroad, never forgot it and always supported it. Albania.
