Huda al-Matrooshi is a young and brave girl who, unlike many of her peers, repairs cars in her garage in Sharjah, UAE, breaking gender stereotypes.
Al-Matrooshi is the first woman from the Emirates to own and run a car factory in the country.
“I started (working in car repair) in 2006, and it became a reality in 2020. When I first started the business, I faced difficulties (due to) the coronavirus. I am still challenging myself and will continue to do so. What motivated me to work in this field is my passion [për makinat]”It was a dream, an ambition, a will and a challenge to prove to myself that I could do it.” tha Huda al.
Her passion for cars pushed her to work as a mechanic for six years before she decided to open her own center.
Emirati women she says are now also working in the field of aviation, even holding government positions. We do not have to become either a teacher or a housewife, al-Matrooshi concludes.
