Invited tonight on Top Story, the chairman of the SP parliamentary group Taulant Balla, has supported the positions of Prime Minister Rama about the investigation of Berisha by SPAK.
He said that the prosecution has all the charges and should continue working on this issue. Balla said that he does not agree with those who say that Berisha should be investigated by America and that 90 percent of Albanians agree with Berisha’s investigation.
“I have submitted a complete report with all the documentation. Twenty or more months have passed today and I have no information what to do with that file. I have the right to be informed and to all agree that on May 19, 2021, the US officially declared Berisha non-woman for corruption. I do not agree with the answer given in parliament that this is a matter that belongs to America, the Albanian prosecution has all the necessary reports for a part of Berisha’s deeds. How is it possible that the prosecution and the SPAK are immediately set in motion for a full case, while for Berisha still nothing. I think these issues stand. It is not an attack but it is an appeal. 90% of Albanian citizens want the SPAK to investigate high-level corruption. ”
Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime Receives Strong Criticism from PM Edi Rama during the SP Assembly, for the almost three-year performance so far, even sparking debate.
Then in a press release, MP Belind Këlliçi said that there is credible information that Rama is involved in international investigations and through blackmail asks the Prosecution to withdraw from cases that directly affect him and people very close to the Prime Minister.
