Meleqe Reja, the first Roma teacher, told “Albania Live” about the challenges of her life, starting from her childhood.
She told how at the age of 8 they had engaged her and at the age of 11 had tried to marry her while her desire was schooling.
“I was afraid of what was going to happen. “Nobody asked me at all”, said the teacher.
The family had done everything while she was only in fourth grade. The time in which she lived prevented her from being educated as there were no organizations assisting in their schooling.
