Seven people lost their lives and four others were injured after a car with Serbian license plates, carrying refugees and migrants, crashed into a house in Hungary.
The accident happened on December 13, after the driver refused to stop for routine checks, police announced.
The driver of the vehicle noticed that the police were conducting checks in the village of Morahalom near the border with Serbia and tried to avoid the patrol, reports Reuters.
The car with 10 people in it, headed towards the town of Segedin and as a result of the high speed, hit the house and turned around.
Police announced that the driver, who was also injured in the accident, was arrested and criminal proceedings will be initiated against him.
He is expected to be charged with trafficking in human beings and causing a fatal accident.
