At least four people have been stabbed in an attack in Numedal, in southeastern Norway, local police said.
In one of the victims it is reported that he is in critical condition. The suspect was subsequently arrested, officials said. “I can confirm that we have the suspect under control,” a police spokesman told Reuters.
Authorities have not indicated what motives they suspect are behind the attack, and police said citizens have indicated that the attacker “accidentally” chose the victims he attacked.
Last October, in the same place, Numedal, an attacker killed five people using knives and arrows. Police had said the attacker was of Danish citizenship and had mental problems.
