A man denouncing the Pope and the Catholic Church today interrupted Pope Francis’s audience at the Vatican, before being escorted out by police.
The man was sitting behind most of the audience and was heard to mention the word “mask” several times.
“The church is not what God wants it to be,” the Englishman said, as he was escorted out by two Vatican police officers and a Swiss guard.
“God rejects you Father, you are not a king,” said the man, as he was escorted out without resistance, as he prayed to the Pope in Spanish and Italian on matters still unknown.
The incident occurred at the end of the high priest’s weekly audience, who then asked the audience to pray for the man.
“A little while ago we heard a person shouting, cursing, there was a problem. “I do not know if he was physical, mental or spiritual, but he is one of our brothers in difficulty,” said the Pope.
“That’s why I want to close it by praying for him, for our suffering brother. The man was suffering from screaming. “Let us not deny the needs of this brother of ours.”
