The Director General of the State Police, Gledis Nano, received in a courtesy meeting the Chairman of the OSCE Presence in Albania, Vincenzo Del Monaco.
Nano and Del Monaco assessed as very good the relations between the State Police and the OSCE, and stressed the need for even more cooperation, as the assistance provided by the OSCE, not only in the training of police officers for the processes election, but also for integrated border management or in other areas, has led to increased professionalism in the human resources of the State Police.
Director Nano sought the support of the OSCE Presence in areas such as organized crime, in particular the campaign against cannabis cultivation, human trafficking, integrated border management and cross-border regional meetings, especially with regard to the establishment of the Center for Integrated Border Management or Joint Center for Police Cooperation with Greece.
Ambassador Del Monaco assured the Director General that the OSCE Presence remains determined to support Albania in integrated border management, not only at the technical level, but also at the political level, as well as in its efforts in the war. against organized crime and the fight against the cultivation of narcotic plants.
During this meeting were discussed other issues of common interest, such as those related to the accreditation of the Scientific Police Institute or cybercrime, which has received increased attention, especially in recent years.
