The General Director of the State Police Gledis Nano has participated in the annual analysis of the Vlora police. Nano stressed that the two priorities remain the prevention and detection of criminal events as well as cannabis cultivation.
Gledis Nano: Two of the priorities we discussed in the analysis conducted today were the prevention of serious criminal events, their detection and the prevention of numbers in terms of cannabis cultivation. These are very strong points where I will personally stand firm in every local directorate where we have developed and are conducting job analysis.
For the sake of truth, the State Police is in charge of the investigations it is conducting in progress. I do not want to give any answer because they are issues under investigation. We expect a positive result at a certain time. As for cannabis cultivation, I have taken it as a personal challenge and I will not tolerate any police officer who by action or inaction will be implicated in this kind of process.
Cooperation with all other agencies is at the maximum level. Cooperation has been requested and we have the support of the Prosecution of the Judicial District of Vlora and Saranda. We will conduct all investigations regarding this crime figure and I believe it will be a different year in terms of the cannabis cultivation phenomenon.
Regarding the whitewashing of crimes committed in the city of Vlora, Nano said that they are working with new technologies.
Gledis Nano: The problem regarding serious crimes in Vlora has not developed today but has been before. As you can see, the approach we have towards criminal investigations is not only with the human resources that the police have, but also with the latest technology in terms of territorial control. We will soon have more news in this regard and I am confident that we will have another result in terms of the deployment of the latest technology on the ground.
