The Minister of Justice, Etilda Gjonaj spoke about the justice reform and the fight against corruption, while emphasizing the achievements of the Socialist Party in these years.
During the activity “the road to April 25”, “Justice we want”, Gjonaj said that Albania has received many assessments while adding that they still have a lot of work to do.
Gjonaj: High court judges and SPAK prosecutors have successfully passed vetting. Unprecedented in this reform has been the financial support given by this majority and it has overcome all our difficulties. This is pure proof of will and support. The budget of the justice system has increased by ALL 4.4 billion since 2016.
Today, the justice system has 869 more employees in the entire system compared to the period before the justice reform. The salaries of system employees have increased on average 101% more than in 2016.
Justice reform is internationally recognized. We have worked intensively to eradicate corruption, we are convinced that we still have a lot of work to do. The Anti-Corruption Task Force has hit the administration hard. In the fight against corruption, the main ally is the citizens. We still have work to do, but recognizing the results of the fight against corruption is more factual than ever. For the first time, Albania has received the most positive assessment from GREKO in the fight against corruption, also in the Transparency International index, Albania is ranked 2 places higher. The SP is the only party that can meet these challenges successfully.
