The Albanian striker, whose card is owned by Barcelona, was rumored to join Getafe in La Liga, but his next destination, as understood from the latest reports, will be England, more specifically to Watford, which this season will play in the Championship.
The English club, with the objective of re-ascension to the Premier League as soon as possible, wants to buy the card of the 25-year-old.
Manaj joined Barcelona B in January 2020 from Albacete. He stayed at the “Blaugrana” club for 18 months, scoring 16 goals in 31 games. The 25-year-old got a chance with the first team during pre-season last year and scored four goals, but was loaned out to Italian club Spezia.
Manaj played 30 games for the Serie A side, scoring five goals. Now back to Barcelona, as Spezia did not have the financial means to fulfill his conditions, but of course Xavi does not have him in his plans either.
SuperSport writes that the Albanian’s contract with Barcelona expires in one year, so the Catalan club will do their best to get something out of his final sale, but it is likely that he will join Watford as a free agent.
