The German Interior Ministry has confirmed today that about 300 thousand Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Germany in recent days. To date, a total of 294,508 refugees have been registered, but this number is expected to increase even more in the coming days.
The current number of refugees arriving may be significantly higher due to the lack of border controls between Poland and Germany, the interior ministry spokesman said.
He also reported that the majority of refugees are women, children and the elderly, as well as people with disabilities who are in constant need of medical care.
The German state has made available to newcomers accommodation, offers for qualification, food, social assistance. Special schools and teaching facilities are being set up in Germany to welcome children from Ukraine.
In these classes, efforts will be made for refugees to learn German as soon as possible in order to settle in the host country.
