German authorities have announced that almost 1,800 people in the southeast of the country last week received expired doses of the new coronavirus vaccine (COVID-19), reports Anadolu Agency (AA).
A vaccination center in the city of Ebersberg, announced the local health department, between January 4 and 6 has given expired doses BioNTech / Pfizer.
At least 1,800 people were injected with doses that expired on December 31, and authorities began notifying all those affected.
The vaccination center said there was no health risk from the expired doses and that it offered free antibody tests to those affected to determine if they needed a new dose for protection.
TRESEC, the company that runs the vaccination center, has announced that it has fired two employees who did not follow the instructions during the preparation for the vaccination./AA/
