Police in the Bavarian region of Germany announced that they have destroyed about 1.5 tons of cocaine, the value of which on the road is about 270 million euros (304 million dollars), which is also the largest such operation so far, reports Anadolu Agency ( AA).
The Bavarian criminal police office said the drugs were burned on Tuesday under tight security at a facility in an unknown location in the south of the state.
The burning, which police dubbed “Operation Snow Melt,” destroyed cocaine seized in various investigations in recent years.
In one of these cases, about 200 kilograms of drugs were found by employees in 10 Bavarian supermarkets in September 2017. They were hidden in boxes of bananas.
