The Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko, says that the Albanian economy will suffer during the consequences of the war in Ukraine.
Prices, especially of food and fuel, will keep the inflation rate high, which is expected to return to the central bank’s 3% target only in the first half of 2024.
“Inflation will return to the 3% target in the first half of 2024.
Throughout 2022 inflation will be at current conditions.
The BoA will closely monitor inflation growth and remains ready to intervene if necessary. “Despite the uncertainty, monetary policy will be stimulating for the entire period ahead.” said Governor Sejko.
