Interpol Tirana and Interpol Wiesbaden, Germany, have arrested in Germany, for the purpose of extradition to Albania, Genc Tafilaj, 43 years old, resident in Shkodra.
He was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Tirana, because in May 2021, the Tirana Court of Appeals decided to return this citizen to prison, to serve the remaining sentence of 6 years, for murder.
Genc Tafilaj was sentenced by the High Court in 2002 to 25 years in prison and after serving part of his sentence, the Kruja District Court, in 2017, decided to release him on parole.
On 02.08.2000, in Shkodra, Genc Tafilaj, in cooperation with his father, killed with a firearm the Director of the Shkodra Police Directorate at that time, Arben Zylyftari.
Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with law enforcement agencies, continues to work on completing the documentation, in order to extradite this citizen to Albania, to serve the remainder of the sentence.
