Young rebels in France have carried out a series of sabotage attacks on what they call the “infrastructure of the Fourth Industrial Revolution”, destroying the antennas of the powerful 5G mobile network.
The ‘Reporterre’ network writes that since the start of the pandemic, 140 such arson attacks have been reported, at a cost of several million euros.
An interviewed saboteur named ‘Pascaline’ said that the antennas and vehicles of the telecommunication groups were attacked, the fiber optic cables were cut or the electrical equipment was broken.
“We are living in a crossroads, if we do nothing now, this industry will take over forever.”
Pascaline and her anarchist colleagues have originated in various French movements, from the Yellow Vests to Christian groups that together oppose what they call the “New Normal network” being built on 5G.
Another anti-5G activist, Léon, told Reporterre: “We have been forced to resort to sabotage for practical reasons. “Since the movement of the Yellow Vests, the state has tightened the screws a lot and it is difficult to act against the government on the streets.”
“Covid restrictions have made it impossible to mobilize against 5G, even though the majority of the population opposes it,” he said.
