The Red Bull-Ferrari duel with their drivers Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc this weekend has been moved to France.
In the official tests Leclerc was superior and in Sunday’s race he will start from Pole Position while a few meters behind him is the reigning World Champion, Verstappen with the Dutchman who will try to immediately attack the Ferrari pilot.
The Paul Ricard track gives the possibility of many overtaking as it is considered one of the fastest on the calendar, while in many cases the corners are also those in which the pilots take with minimal use of the brakes. However, this side also has its own risk as in case of a mistake, then a serious accident is at risk.
Not for nothing, the track is equipped with several layers in blue and red which serve precisely to reduce the speed of the car that goes out of the trajectory since this track lacks the usual gravel. Exactly, the blue lines are the ones that slow down the car more easily, while the red ones have a greater impact on locking the tires.
Meanwhile, the colors have created quite a bit of controversy among drivers who are not big fans as they get mixed up, an episode that happened to Sebastian Vettel in 2018.
However, the organizers are obliged to act in this way to avoid high risks. Circuit Paul Ricard debuted in the world of Formula 1 in 1972 and has a total of 15 turns while the length of the track is 5,842 meters. Meanwhile, this could be the last time he competes at Paul Ricard, given that in the future the Formula 1 calendar will be expanded with Las Vegas and China, and it is difficult to reserve a place for the French track, whose contract expires exactly in the year 2022.
