In the Ukrainian capital, snow and minus temperatures are adding to the worries of residents who have left their homes behind.
Thousands of people have been sheltered in unheated basements, underground car parks and subway stations across the city.
In the days before the invasion, the skies were blue and the city sunny. Temperatures began to fall over the weekend and already Kiev is frozen. People have spent hours waiting in long lines at grocery stores and pharmacies in the city since they first opened after a 36-hour curfew.
At the moment, the main infrastructure of the city is still standing. Electricity, heating and water are available, but fears of possible supply disruptions have grown as a tall Russian military convoy is located in the city.
