French President Emmanuel Macron has warned Russia that it will pay a “very high price” if it attacks Ukraine, insisting that Paris is united with Berlin in the need to escalate the situation.

Macron said he would hold a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on January 28.
This conversation, he said, will be part of the dialogue with Russia and offers opportunities to “clarify” Moscow’s strategy on Ukraine.
