The clothing company, Patagonia, involved in awareness campaigns, including the protection of the Vjosa River, announces that it has signed an agreement with the Albanian government to create the first single wild river national park in Europe.
The Albanian government undertook to work with a team of experts, including EcoAlbania, Riverwatch, Euronature and others from the Save the Blue Heart campaign, to protect Vjosa.
The Vjosa River and its tributaries at over 300 km in length are home to 1,100 species of animals, including 13 globally threatened animals and two plant species.
