A bar was fined € 1,000 after a customer complained to police because the price of coffee was not shown on the counter
The client had called the police when asked for € 2 for his decaffeinated coffee at the Ditta Artigianale bar in downtown Tuscany.
The man complained that the price of coffee was not shown on the menu set behind the counter.
And this seems to have been the mistake that brought the bar the trouble of the fine, even though it is one of the most popular coffee places with some prizes won.
Francesco Sanapo, owner of Ditta Artigianale, wrote angrily on social media defending his coffee, which he said came from a small plantation in Mexico and was further “carefully prepared by my baristas”. He argued that the price of coffee appears in the digital menu.
