After the aggravated situation created by the bad weather, especially in the South of the country, in Fier and Vlora, President Ilir Meta reacted.
Meta says that the problem is the fact that, as in the past, the Civil Protection authorities and the Prefectures have not previously notified the population in high-risk areas.
“In solidarity with the residents affected by the consequences of bad weather, I call on all responsible state institutions to be maximally committed to the safety of life and property,” he said.
META REACTION
I am following with special attention the critical situation created as a result of bad weather and the measures that are being taken to overcome it in some areas flooded and blocked by snowfall.
I was informed that the situation is more problematic in the District of Fier, especially in the administrative unit of Levan, the village of Ferras, where 15 families have been evacuated and hundreds of hectares of agricultural land are under water.
There are numerous floods in the Region of Vlora, especially in the area of Mifol where the flooded area of agricultural land exceeds 1200 hectares, while many villages in the Vlora River are isolated.
Also in the North, North-East and South-East of the country, many areas are blocked today by heavy snowfall.
Problematic is the fact that, as in the past, the Civil Protection authorities and the Prefectures have not previously notified the population in high-risk areas, regarding the early forecast according to IGJEUM, which for days has notified the state authorities about the forecast. motit.
In solidarity with the residents affected by the consequences of bad weather, I call on all responsible state institutions to be fully committed to the safety of life and property.
