“The General Directorate of Civil Emergencies, the Prefecture and the Municipality of Fier have announced two or three days before the anticipated emergency situation. As Çako said, it is the largest inflow in 50 years, even in 2017 when there was a flood, the Mifol bridge was not crossed by the waters.
We have a difficult situation, but I wanted to tell you that we hope that in the following hours the water level will drop. We have talked to the army forces and if the water level does not fall, we will make forced evacuations of those people who continue to stay in the apartments“.
Speaking about the cattle that are in danger of drowning, Balla said that with the support of the army forces we will try to get them out of the danger zone.
Balla assured the residents that all the protective barriers of the embankment part will be strengthened, in order to avoid further situations.
