According to her, the reason was the quarrel with the secretary of the hospital, as she did not open a coveted card for her husband.
Nexhmije Ibrahimi, 72 years old from Delvina, who has been a doctor for 45 years, complains to Fiks Fare that the Delvina hospital terminated his employment contract and fined him 500 thousand old lekë. She says that her termination of the contract came because she had a debate with the secretary of human resources, as the latter had asked her to open cards in her husband’s hospital and for herself, which was not allowed. “Even though she was a hospital employee, I would not break the rules, we were not allowed to open the card and I did not,” said the 72-year-old doctor.
After this debate, Mrs. Nexhmie says that he was verbally informed about the termination of his employment with Delvina Hospital. “I did not know that they had come from Vlora for an audit, no one informed me, only after they had made a decision, the director called me in the office,” says the 72-year-old. There she learned that in addition to being fired, she also had to pay the amount of 500 thousand old lek, because they had not withheld a salary tax. In fact the audit that had been done had mistakenly found the hospital finance staff, so it was not a doctor’s fault. She calls it an injustice done to her, either with the fine or with the dismissal moreover they have not yet given her a motivation for her dismissal. In these conditions she sought the help of Fiks.
Fiksi went to Delvina Hospital to get a more complete answer regarding the 72-year-old’s complaint. At the hospital, the journalists initially asked for the head of this institution, but even though it was the official schedule, he was not at his place of work. The only one who was in this institution was the deputy director who said that she had clarified to the lady about the fine. The finance office had erred in the calculation formula as the doctor’s income was still calculated with a salary of 30 thousand ALL per month. But with the pandemic, the working hours of the 72-year-old doctor increased, as a result of which the income was calculated according to the old formula. The audit revealed the error and as a result the lady was listed as a debtor as she was not taxed properly. This period of miscalculation covered the period from September 2019 to September 2020, ie a full year. And for a year of error by the administration, doctor Nexhmie Ibrahimi has to pay 500 thousand old lekë immediately. “They are young at the finance office and I, as an economist, helped them, but they did not catch the mistake and neither did I.” says the deputy director “and now the doctor has to return this money”. When asked by the journalist why they did not keep her every month, the deputy director says that she would do it but she was obliged to ask for everything after the director and human resources had informed her about the termination of the 72-year-old doctor.
As for the removal order, she says that she is not responsible for this, but she heard that the doctor’s license expired in July and was not renewed until January, so she was fired. When asked why she was not fired from the moment the license expired, the deputy director of the hospital explains that we favored her with the idea of renewing the license, even though this favoritism lasted for 6-7 months. The doctor asks for the removal order to be made available to him, but the deputy director does not have it and takes the director on the phone. The latter tells her not to give an interview for Fiks Fare as she is not authorized. When the deputy director also asked the chief of finance as he should also have the order to make the removal from the system, the latter did not have it, while the human resources employees were neither in the office nor answered the phone.
