Shkëlzen Lamuça, is the heroic firefighter who saved the lives of two little girls of the Nanaj family after the fire that broke out in a palace in the area of Astiri, a week ago.
He was able to get the girls out of the endangered palace in time, so for this reason he was honored with the Medal of Gratitude of the City of Tirana.

For Shkelzen himself, the hero firefighter, rescuing two little girls was one of the greatest pleasures he has experienced during his career.

Mayor Erion Veliaj said that the municipality of Tirana has invested in equipping with tools to come to the aid not only of people in a situation of fire, but in any event where specialized intervention is needed.
“As soon as the fire service passed into the administration of the municipality, we took this job very seriously because it is a job that is related to human life, the dignity of the city, the security of property. Most people think that firefighters are only there to put out fires, but they are there even when the elevator is blocked, when road accidents occur, they provide first aid in many situations when firefighters arrive ahead of other services. “I am especially proud that, not only have we added equipment – we have ultra-modern tools today – but I believe that the number one asset is neither firefighters, nor clothing, nor work tools: The number one asset is people.”– thaVeliaj.
