Residents say they have been residents of this neighborhood since the 90’s and at the time they built their houses the cemetery existed at a distance of 200 meters from the settlements. They say they are willing to pay themselves to build a dividing wall with the cemetery and residence.

The journalists of Fiks Fare together with the complainants addressed the Directorate of Municipal Services in Durrës, where the secretary of this institution and the deputy director said that this land that the residents complained about was given to them expropriated by the municipality based on a request for additional space. . But, after a request for information from the editorial office of the show Fiks Fare, addressed to the municipality of the city of Durrës regarding the demolition of the perimeter wall of the new cemetery of the city, in neighborhood 15, it was said that due to depletion of space to perform burial, in 2021 started a procedure of expropriation of land with an area of ​​44,190 m2 located outside the surrounding wall of the cemetery. This area will serve for all funeral services for a period of approximately 15 years. Currently, the municipality of Durrës has taken measures and is designing a new space. The existing wall will be completely demolished, to be rebuilt by a young man on the border with the expropriated properties, thus making a division between the territory of the cemetery and the apartments of the families living there.
