The environmental catastrophe with dead fish in the Misar canal in the area of Myzeqe, has worried the residents of the area.
They blame the olive oil factories for this catastrophe and say that at the same time of the year the fish die. The amount is large, but their consumption is dangerous due to the toxic waste carried by the waters.

After closely observing the scene, the journalists addressed the Fier Regional Environment Agency to ask if this institution is aware of the natural disaster that occurred in the Misar canal in Divjaka. Field inspectors said that they have carried out verifications to stop the activity of the entity on which it was suspected and that all entities should dispose of waste in landfills. Such situations were found years ago when fines were taken and it is thought that this damage came from the spills of olive factories, but there is a possibility that this canal has been poisoned by preparations that are thrown into the water for easier capture of fish.
Since the Misari canal in the area of Myzeqe is under the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Divjaka, the journalists addressed this institution where the head of the environmental sector said that on 23 11 2021 he had received a letter from the Regional Directorate of Protected Areas for an environmental pollution for the Misar canal, located in the Myzeqe area resulting in the death of the fish. This sector says for Fiks that they have been set in motion by contacting residents of the area, making physical checks for water pollution.
