The situation in the Drini cascade has continued to improve and the latest data show that the level of Fierza has gone to the quota of 269.78 meters.
The Albanian Electric Power Corporation made public the data this Friday where the level in the lake of Hec Koman was 172.80 mmnd, and in Hec Vau Dejës 73.86 mmnd.
On the other hand, the inflows in HPP Fierzë are 400 m3 / s, in HPP Koman 140 m3 / s and HPP Vau i Dejës 10 m3 / s.
The daily production in the cascade in the three HPPs is 5,469 MWh (daily) accounting for about 1/4 of the amount of consumption in the country while the energy reserve is 490 GWh.
The improvement of the situation in the Drini cascade has been significant in recent days thanks to the favorable weather conditions by increasing the main HPP, Fierza from the 258 meter quota that was in March.
The expectations of KESH and the government are that the improvement in the cascade will continue as the weather conditions are expected to be favorable.
KESH’s preliminary forecast is for Fierza to reach 276 meters around April 17, but this is not certain.
At this level the energy reserve in the cascade would be around 650 GWh thus giving a greater guarantee to cope with the difficult energy situation that goes beyond the borders of Albania.
Currently KESH has announced that it has contracted with a contract until April 1200M until July and is continuing the deposit with KEK./ Monitor
