A fierce debate has been created in the Assembly between the Democratic MP, Dashnor Sula and the Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina IBrahimaj.
The MP accuses the government of not taking concrete measures to help Albanian citizens in the price crisis that the country is experiencing.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Finance has replied by saying that the figures are untrue and has accused the MP of speaking in a populist tone.
“The government acts according to its own interests. We are not against knowing that even companies from the price increase should be indexed, but why only companies that receive public funds are indexed and not ordinary citizens who buy every day at high prices. The philosophies of the Minister of Finance are not true. Which category did you catch with the resistance package? You have given 90 thousand ALL to pensioners for three months, does this solve their problem? What about the needy? With 80 thousand ALL will be kept? This is the resistance package. Macedonia, Serbia and Kosovo have given more than us. “And come here and tell us untrue things.”said Sula.
“You do not remove any taxes. Did you know that you have amassed millions of euros, 342 million? Return to citizens. These are the truths. No need for philosophies. How long will the impoverishment of citizens last? The truth is a poor society and a rich government. There are no more people in agriculture, see Peqin, Gramsh, Belshi, they are deserted. “I know that the opposition has its problems, we had 3 or 4 oligarchs, but you made them 25. I am convinced that now some of the senior politicians do not behave like politicians but businessmen.”added the deputy.
Ibrahimaj: You can go to the pulpit with a populist tone without essence. You may not listen to our arguments and not read the figures. Economic growth does not come by itself but by government policies. You can mention fake figures, I invite you to read and understand them. You do not want to understand that the support of the Albanian government for the crisis is 44.5 billion ALL. the government redistributes and makes policies that curb the economic downturn.
Sula: I do not invent them here, you are openly lying about the sunny day and your eyes do not darken.
Brahimaj: I suggest economists deal with economic issues and others deal with issues that belong to them. As explained in many cases the VAT for 99% of businesses is zero. We did not interfere with the VAT rate because we knew it would have no effect, but we intervened with the subsidy we gave to Albanians. Analyzes show that our policy has been productive.
