Whole swarms of locusts have invaded endless areas of land in the area of Topojë Seman.
Entire areas planted with agricultural and fodder crops are damaged by swarms of insects.
Farmers in the area claim that it is not the first time, but in the last five years the herds of shrimps have been increasing and the damage is to the extent of nearly 45% of their production that is lost.
Farmers have informed the Directorate of Agriculture and have requested the disinfection of the land surfaces that attack the locusts the most.
There are more than 80 hectares infected to date in several villages in Myzeqe. As soon as the summer season comes, locusts invade the fields with crops.
